This year’s London Pride campaign of #WeAreEverywhere focused on everyday Londoners who may not be in the headlines, but make an active difference to their community. This year London Open Gardens celebrated its 25th anniversary. This weekend event which runs in June every year allows the public to access community and private gardens ordinarily closed to them, giving Londoners an opportunity to see hidden green spaces. PBHA is proud to have been a part of this event for over a decade. PBHA is working towards being accredited by Houseproud as a Pledge Pioneer Pledge Project | houseproud-lgbt. The HouseProud Pledge is a scheme that all social housing providers (housing associations, local authorities and ALMOs) can sign up to to demonstrate their commitment to LGBTQ+ resident equality and support.  It has been developed by HouseProud and the University of Surrey in collaboration with residents, staff members and sector leaders to address the issues raised by the findings of ‘No Place Like Home?’, the largest study ever undertaken to understand LGBTQ+ experiences of social housing. PBHA is inviting companies to tender for responsive repairs and out of hours emergency works, to service nearly 300 homes across Hackney, Islington and Newham.  PBHA intends to appoint contractors for the maintenance, repair and improvement of its properties, to meet its repairing obligations as a landlord.  Our hope is to appoint 3-4 contractors whose work is consistently of a high standard.  Contractors may specialise in one or more of the following works: General responsive repairs Electrical Fire alarm Plumbing  We are seeking to build long-standing relationships with skilled repairs and maintenance companies.  The tender specification can be accessed here.  If you [...]

We had the pleasure of hosting volunteers from local plumbing company Hall & Randall at Clissold Gardens last month. Volunteers, David and Hadleigh, came down for the day to help with some much needed upkeep. In particular, they renovated our polytunnel using materials supplied by the company.  Hall & Randall have been our plumbing contractors for some years and it was great to welcome them into our gardens for the day. Everyone at Peter Bedford would like to offer them our thanks for their contribution and look forward to working with you for many years to come.  

We are celebrating Starts at Home Day 2023 at Peter Bedford Housing Association celebrating the support we offer people to live independent and happy lives and to build thriving communities. Peter Bedford has passed Cyber Essentials, a UK certification scheme designed to show that an organisation has a minimum level of protection in cyber security. Backed by the UK government and overseen by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). It encourages organisations to adopt good practices in information security. Cyber Essentials also includes an assurance framework and a simple set of security controls to protect information from threats coming from the internet.
