Outpost proudly presents 50 YEARS 50 WORKS, a sizzling summer exhibition of textiles, painting, drawing and printmaking by adults on WEA and PBHA creative courses at The Workshop in Hackney. Marking a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Peter Bedford Housing Association, with one unique piece for every year of adult learning at PBHA. This must-see show has inspiration for everyone, from traditional to experimental, amusing to thought-provoking, and from portraits to cityscapes.
Co-produced with the learners, the exhibition is bursting with an eclectic array of original works exploring diverse experiences, skills and self-expression developed through creative learning at PBHA. A double celebration for the learners, the exhibition provides opportunities to work towards a project brief, create works and get involved in the organisation. Culminating in a showcase of achievements over the past year in our weekly creative classes, taught in partnership with the WEA.
Most works are for sale, affordably priced from £40 to £200, with 100% of the sales revenue helping to sustain our adult learning programmes and social enterprises at PBHA. Come on over to Outpost and chose from 50 WORKS to adorn your walls!
Alongside homes and support, PBHA offers tenants and participants a holistic approach to recovery and wellbeing. We offer a range of formal and informal learning opportunities for residents of Hackney, Islington and other London boroughs. We offer learners a welcoming and friendly space to gain skills, build confidence, and meet new people.
