Local charity and social landlord Peter Bedford Housing Association (PBHA) opens Clissold Community Garden to the public on 13-14 June, as part of the National Trust’s annual Open Garden Squares Weekend.

Members of the public, PBHA tenants and participants are invited to come down and explore the garden, meet their neighbours and relax in a peaceful haven.

The garden is the focal point for Plot to Plate, PBHA’s project to encourage tenants and participants to grow, cook and eat healthy food.

Tended and cultivated by our weekly Gardening Group, the space is filled with fruit, herbs and vegetables to serve in PBHA’s canteens and community cafes. Produce is grown using organic methods, encouraging biodiversity to flourish also.

Home-made seasonal refreshments will be on sale, along with planter boxes of edible herbs and flowers made by the gardening group and tutor Sam Silverlock.

We look forward to welcoming you to the garden.
