Our focus is on the development of independence, work and learning through creative courses such as Arts & Craft, Photography, Digital Inclusion and Life-Skills (learning about themselves, their lifestyle and local community).

Textiles courses
Textiles for Outpost Shop and Gallery
Develop your skills and understanding of design using a sewing machine and hand stitching with mixed media. Learn simple and experimental techniques to produce artwork to display in a group exhibition in our Social Enterprise shop (Outpost) on Holloway Road.
Dates: 22 April – 15 July 2020
Time: Wednesdays 10am – 4pm
Duration: 11 sessions

Introduction to Textiles Techniques – ‘Developing Ideas in Knitting and Weaving’
Learn to knit and explore different weaving techniques, and develop your understanding of colour, texture and design. Apply this knowledge to make your own simple textiles designs.
Dates: 3 March – 14 July 2020
Time: Tuesdays 2pm – 5pm
Duration: 16 sessions

Art Courses
Painting and Drawing – ‘Experimental Techniques’
Develop your skills in drawing and painting using different techniques to experiment with a range of media and materials, and explore contemporary themes. Express your personal ideas to produce artwork for display in a group exhibition in our Social Enterprise shop (Outpost) on Holloway Road.
Dates: 3 March – 14 July 2020

Duration: 16 sessions

Beginners’ Screen Printing (Evening Class)
This course is a creative and practical introduction to the screen printing process aimed at beginners and the curious. You will get a step by step guide in to producing your own series of prints using silk screens. At the end of the course you will have created an original framed piece of Art for home or as a bespoke gift.

Explore a range of joinery techniques and learn how to make a beautifully designed shelving unit.

Joinery Placements at The Workshop
Our joinery placements offer a supportive, inclusive environment where people with mental ill health or learning disabilities can learn practical skills in joinery, as well as develop skills to support recovery, social inclusion and employment.

Supporting Makers
One-to-one support for makers, designers and artists to independently produce handmade products for sale at Outpost and other retail outlets.
