Trans Pride Day: A Time to Reflect and Stand Together

Trans Pride Day is a vital moment of visibility, protest and pride – and one we mark with care at PBHA.

This year, it comes on the heels of April’s UK Supreme Court ruling, which handed down a landmark and highly contentious ruling that redefines ‘woman’ and ‘sex’ under the Equality Act 2010 as referring exclusively to biological sex. This ruling has raised concerns among our trans tenants and staff. At PBHA we want to be absolutely clear: trans rights are human rights. We remain committed to being a safe, inclusive place for trans people to live, work and thrive.

“We know rulings like this don’t happen in a vacuum—they affect how safe people feel in everyday spaces. That’s why we keep listening and showing up for our trans community,” suggests one of our Recovery Co-ordinators at Peter Bedford H.A.

“Now more than ever it is vital we offer safe homes and community spaces for trans people – and that we show support, care and respect when others aren’t.”   says Tom Markwell, Director of Services.

Our LGBTQ+ group continues to offer a dedicated space for trans members to connect and be heard, especially during times like these.

“Trans Pride isn’t just a celebration—it’s a statement. You matter. You belong. And we stand with you!”

Let’s keep working to make that statement true in everything we do.

Whether you’re marching, volunteering, or simply showing up in solidarity, London Trans Pride 2025 promises to be a weekend that celebrates progress while pushing for more.
