We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in securing £293k from the government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.  Our bid was part of a partnership, led by Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association.

The fund will enable us to undertake a two-year retrofit programme, improving energy efficiency in identified properties and reducing fuel bills for residents.  The works will focus on insulation and fabric first measures.  The grant from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero covers 50% of costs, which Peter Bedford HA will match-fund. “We are delighted that we have secured the funds to insulate 38 Peter Bedford homes across Hackney and Islington. This will make real savings for tenants from 2025 onwards as the costs of heating their homes will fall” said Chris Deacon, Director of Services.

PBHA seeks to be carbon zero before 2050 and this is a major milestone in our Roadmap. It is a good first step from which we will build the rest of our plan.
