Volunteers’ Week takes place from 1st-7th June every year. It’s a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our community and say thank you. Following this uniquely challenging year, during which all of our volunteer-supported projects moved to remote delivery, showing our gratitude is more important than ever.
PBHA volunteers have played key roles in the pandemic response. Our Digital Champions have supported our mission to tackle the digital divide by helping people to use their digital devices, equipping them with vital skills and knowledge to make sure they aren’t left behind at a time when so many aspects of life have moved online. Our Telephone Befrienders have provided an understanding ear to help lonely and isolated community members to connect and communicate. In Summer-Autumn 2020, our Food Project volunteers packaged and delivered fortnightly food and hygiene parcels to 30 of our most at-risk residents. Our community fundraiser has been generating ideas to build support for PBHA and its activities.
During an exceptionally difficult year, volunteers made a big difference to the PBHA community. Please join us for lunch online on Wednesday 2nd June (1pm-2.30pm). We will play games, compete for prizes, celebrate achievements and thank volunteers for their invaluable contribution.
All PBHA volunteers who have contributed to projects from April 2020-June 2021 will receive a £5 voucher to pay for their lunch. Please talk to your Supervisor so that we can arrange this for you.
