Garfield Weston Foundation Funding Success

2018-07-30T14:47:49+01:00

We are delighted to announce that we have received a two-year grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation, amounting to £60,000. This valuable grant will go towards our work to support our tenants and beneficiaries to gain the skills and confidence they need to achieve independence. It will enable us to develop our Adult Learning and Employability service, support our Enterprises, create new ways to enable tenants to help each other (such as our new Time Bank) and allow us to encourage more tenants to get involved in our PBHA decision making processes. The Garfield Weston Foundation has previously supported refurbishments at [...]

We recently reported to the Drapers’ Charitable Fund to feedback on the generous grant awarded to us to support the work of our Adult Learning and Enterprise service and enable us to reach more people. As a result of support from the Fund, we were able to reach many more new participants than we had ever envisioned – over 130 in fact. Our report was well-received with Andy Mellows, Head of Charities at the Worshipful Company of Drapers. Andy commented that: “you supported many more beneficiaries than you originally anticipated, which is a great result” and he further praised: “the [...]

Roy Appleton Farewell Exhibition

2018-07-30T17:41:31+01:00

Outpost hosted a special exhibition (Not a load of Pollocks: I Told You I Was Under The Weather) celebrating the life and work of Islington-based artist Roy Appleton who sadly passed away in September 2017. Born in 1954, Roy Appleton was a dad, a grandad, a brother, an uncle, a partner and a good friend to many. He spent most of his life making, building, fixing - training himself on every DIY job imaginable! Roy was a painter: he painted school playgrounds, sprayed Rolls Royce cars and black cabs, and in his most recent venture turned his hand to a freer [...]
