We are very pleased to see a commitment to establishing a significant Building Safety Fund to remove unsafe materials from tall buildings. The broad commitment to remove “unsafe” materials is very welcome as this will remove some uncertainty where materials other than ACM pose a fire risk. Yet, how materials are removed from complex buildings which are not tall remains a question, as does whether there is any funding for interim remedial measures. Minister of State for the Department for Work and Pensions Will Quince visited our Hackney site at Kingsland Hub last week in a visit organised by Kate Henderson, CEO of the National Housing Federation. Will met participants of the Next Steps with Computers class and their tutor Richard Lackrage, and heard their experiences learning IT skills and their importance given that Universal Credit is claimed online. Tenants and staff have been working on keeping our hubs safe, warm welcome spaces for mutual support.  Isledon hub has been needing a bit of TLC.  Tender Loving Care came in the form of a team of decorating apprentices from our External Decoration contractors Bell Group.   Big thanks to Rosanna, Janae, Connor and Tom who spent several days last week decorating Isledon.  It's looking great, thank you!
