What do we provide?

Participants choose a package of activity from a range of workschemes, groups, training and employment activities.

Workschemes offer work and training in catering, retail, joinery and soft furnishings - plus NVQs in Retail, Catering and Sewn Products

Open2work uses a range of resources and partnerships to help people get and keep jobs. We also have a role in helping people aspire to paid employment.

Open2college offers advice, guidance and fees support to help people get onto college and other vocational courses.

The Welcome Web offers literacy, numeracy, IT skills as well as computer and internet access

Groups include Arts and Crafts, Pottery, Rug-making, African Caribbean Cookery, Creative Writing

Who are placements for?

Anyone with support needs who can benefit from what we offer and is

  • 18 years plus
  • wants to participate or to give it a try
  • does not pose an unmanageable risk to themselves or others in a workplace

Who can refer?

Social services, health, self or family. All places must be funded.

How are people recruited?

  • Application by person and referrer
  • Interview
  • Risk Assessment

This process can take as little as two weeks. We can offer tasters so that people can see if we are right for them. We are also willing to check out whether we can manage risks through trial periods.
